Summer Vacation in the Hills

This summer during the week of July 18-22 my husband and I will attend the High Schools That Work Conference in Nashville, Tennessee.  We will spend 5 days and 4 nights at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center. This will be the second time we have been to the area and stayed at the same resort. The hotel is beautiful and many of the rooms have balconies that provide access to the inside of the interior of the hotel. While there, we plan to tour the area and some of the country music singers homes.

Personal Readings

I have not read a new book lately, but I have read my Bible and Sunday School Lessons for the upcoming week. Recent lessons have been about the end times as recorded in the Book of Revelation. Great events that will take place prior to the "Rapture" and even greater events afterwards.  Prior to the "Rapture" many sights and wonders will happen and are happening as you read this blog. Weather patterns are rapidly changing in addition to the many other events foretold. NEW "Life" after this life on Earth as told by John, the writer of Revelation, tells of the beauties of Heaven. How Awesome is this story!

Census Data Activity

Comparison of education data for 5 well-known cities in the USA.
Findings are based upon percentages of high school diploma, bachelor's and master's degree.

"Wikipedia Comparison"

     * I selected the topic of gospel music to compare using wikipedia and britannica. Wikipedia provided more information about this genre of music. Wikipedia provided the history of cultures and time periods of its origination whereas Britannica provided names of people most commonly associated with gospel music. Information in wikipedia is more useful for research and the numerous hyperlinks give greater explanations for the topics being listed. Wikipedia maintains current updates and changes to this style of music. As history changes, wikipedia changes. Simple English in wikipedia gave a short definition of the topic.

    * Resources and information in britannica is mainly historical in content. Britannica includes very little information about current changes that occur in modern gospel music such as praise and worship or contemporary gospel music. Information in britannica is not updated.
